Tuna Ciabatta Sandwich with Lemon & Peppers

A flavorful and easy-to-make sandwich combining tuna, pickled peppers, and lemon for a zesty lunch option.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 300 g canned tuna, drained
  • 0.5 medium red onion, finely diced (finely diced)
  • 3 to 4 hot peppers pickled hot peppers, chopped (finely chopped)
  • 0.5 lemon lemon juice (approximately 1½ to 2 tbsp)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • to taste salt salt
  • 2 rolls ciabatta rolls (or 1 large loaf cut into portions)
  • optional lettuce, tomato slices, olive oil (for optional additions)

Instructions 

  • Drain tuna and transfer to a bowl. Flake with a fork.
  • Add diced red onion, chopped peppers, lemon juice, salt, and mayonnaise. Mix until combined.
  • Slice ciabatta rolls horizontally. Optionally brush with olive oil.
  • Spread tuna mixture on the bottom halves. Add optional lettuce or tomato if desired.
  • Place top halves over the filling and press gently. Serve immediately.

Notes

For milder heat, remove seeds from peppers before chopping.
