Enjoy a flavorful and easy-to-make bowl featuring tender beef, stir-fried vegetables, and savory teriyaki sauce served over rice.

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1.5 cups white rice
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 2 green onions sliced (white parts only)

To serve

  • to taste Sesame seeds

Instructions 

  • Cook rice in 3 cups water with a pinch of salt until tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Whisk soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and garlic powder to make the sauce; set aside.
  • Cook beef in sesame oil over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes until browned, then add sauce and cook 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  • Stir-fry vegetables with water for 3-4 minutes until tender, then return beef to pan and toss to combine.
  • Assemble bowls with rice, beef, vegetables, and top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
