A flavorful and quick Korean-inspired beef bowl perfect for a satisfying meal in minutes.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 or leaner)
  • 0.5 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste, optional for mild heat)
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine or short-grain rice
  • 2 green onions sliced, for garnish
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 4 large eggs (optional, for frying)

Optional toppings

  • kimchi, shredded carrots, or sliced cucumber (Optional additional toppings)

Instructions 

  • Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned, then drain excess fat.
  • Add garlic, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, black pepper, and sesame oil; cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare rice and fry eggs if using.
  • Serve beef mixture over rice, top with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and optional fried eggs and toppings.

Notes

For a milder flavor, reduce gochujang or omit it entirely.
