Delicious homemade protein bars that are perfect for a quick snack or post-workout boost.

Ingredients

Oats

  • 1.5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (135 g)
  • 0.75 cup peanut butter (or favorite nut butter or sunflower butter, 180 g)
  • 1 piece banana (mashed, 120 g)
  • 0.33 cup honey, agave or real maple syrup (110 g)
  • 0.5 cup ground flax seed (55 g)
  • 1 cup protein powder (120 g)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (10 ml)

Mix-ins

  • to taste chopped dates, dried fruit, blueberries, cranberries, raisins, mini chocolate chips, unsweetened coconut flakes, nuts

Instructions 

  • Mix all ingredients except mix-ins until well combined.
  • Fold in mix-ins until evenly distributed.
  • Press mixture firmly into an 8x8 inch pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into bars.
  • Store bars in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Use a variety of mix-ins for different flavors and textures.
