A delicious and hearty one-pot pasta dish combining smoky BBQ flavors with tender steak and creamy cheese for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb steak, sliced into strips
  • 12 oz penne or rotini pasta
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup smoky BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sliced green peppers
  • optional Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add steak, season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pot, add beef broth, heavy cream, BBQ sauce, and uncooked pasta. Stir to combine, then bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
  • Stir in cheddar cheese and green peppers until cheese melts and sauce is creamy. Return steak to the pot and mix well.
  • Let sit for a minute, then serve garnished with cilantro or parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika or chili flakes.
