A delicious and hearty one-pot pasta dish combining smoky BBQ flavors with tender steak and creamy cheese for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
Meat
1lbsteak, sliced into strips
12ozpenne or rotini pasta
2cupsbeef broth
1cupheavy cream
½cupsmoky BBQ sauce
1tbspolive oil or butter
1tsponion powder
1tspgarlic powder
to tasteSalt and pepper
1cupgrated cheddar cheese
½cupsliced green peppers
optionalFresh cilantro or parsley for garnish
Instructions
Heat olive oil or butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add steak, season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same pot, add beef broth, heavy cream, BBQ sauce, and uncooked pasta. Stir to combine, then bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
Stir in cheddar cheese and green peppers until cheese melts and sauce is creamy. Return steak to the pot and mix well.
Let sit for a minute, then serve garnished with cilantro or parsley if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika or chili flakes.
