A warm, comforting vegan apple crumble with a hint of cinnamon and maple sweetness, perfect for a cozy dessert.
Ingredients
Apples

diced apples
(about 6-8 whole apples (see notes for best varieties))

fresh lemon juice

pure maple syrup

arrowroot or cornstarch

(diced, plus extra for greasing)

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 2-quart baking dish with vegan butter.
Toss apples with lemon juice, 4 tbsp maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and arrowroot. Pour into dish.
Blend 1 cup oats into coarse flour, then mix with remaining oats, salt, butter, and 4 tbsp maple syrup until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbling. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with vegan vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use tart, firm apples like Granny Smith for best flavor and texture.
