Instructions
Remove ribs from refrigerator 1 hour before cooking to come to room temperature. Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
Mix spices, pat ribs dry, coat with spice rub. Bake on a lined tray for 1 hour.
Prepare BBQ sauce by simmering tomato paste, liquid smoke, spices, coconut aminos, vinegar, and water for 10-15 minutes. Stir in sweetener if using.
Flip ribs, return to oven, bake for 55 minutes. Brush with sauce, then broil at 450°F (230°C) for 3-5 minutes to crisp edges.
Serve immediately. For grilling, cook ribs on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, then coat with sauce and crisp for 1 minute per side.
Notes
Ensure to monitor the ribs during broiling to prevent burning.
