Delicious and quick shrimp tacos packed with fresh flavors and vibrant toppings, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

Oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Spices and Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper

Tortillas

  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas

Vegetables and Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (green or purple)
  • 0.5 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 whole avocado, sliced
  • to taste lime wedges for serving
  • 0.5 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 whole lime, zest and juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • to taste salt

Instructions 

  • Combine shrimp, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
  • Cook shrimp in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  • Mix sour cream or yogurt with lime zest, lime juice, honey (if using), and salt to make lime crema.
  • Warm tortillas until soft and pliable.
  • Assemble tacos with shrimp, cabbage, cilantro, avocado, drizzle with lime crema, and serve with lime wedges.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lime over the tacos before serving.
