DIY Fruit on the Bottom Yogurt

A delicious and healthy treat combining sweet fruit compote with creamy yogurt, perfect for a quick breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Fruit and Seeds

  • 2 ½ cups fresh or frozen fruit
  • 1 tbsp black or white chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (divided)
  • 2 cups plain regular or Greek yogurt

Instructions 

  • Cook the fruit in a saucepan over medium heat for 5-10 minutes until softened, adding water if sticking.
  • Use a masher or blender to break down large chunks if needed, then stir in ½ tbsp honey and cook for 3-5 minutes. Cool in fridge.
  • Mix remaining honey into yogurt, tasting and adjusting sweetness.
  • Divide cooled fruit compote into six jars, then top each with about ⅓ cup of sweetened yogurt. Chill until ready to serve.

Notes

Use ripe fruit for best flavor and adjust sweetness to taste.
