A moist and flavorful loaf combining sweet dates and crunchy walnuts, perfect for a cozy treat.
Ingredients

strong hot tea

Chopped walnuts
Instructions
Place chopped dates in a bowl and add butter, salt, baking soda, and brown sugar. Pour hot tea over and cool.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a loaf pan with non-stick spray.
Once cooled, stir in vanilla extract. Add flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and eggs; fold in dry ingredients.
Fold in chopped walnuts, transfer batter to pan, and top with extra walnuts if desired.
Bake for 50 minutes, test with a toothpick, and bake an additional 5 minutes if needed. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then on a wire rack.
Notes
For extra flavor, top with additional walnuts or chopped dates before baking.
