Ingredients

Meat and Vegetables

  • 325 g ground beef
  • 2 pieces shallots (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 177 g potato (cooked, cooled and mashed)
  • 60 ml water
  • 15 ml soy sauce
  • 3 g sea salt
  • 5 g mala spice (optional, for extra spice and flavor)
  • 4 ml sesame oil

Dough

  • 400 g all-purpose flour
  • 6 g sea salt
  • 170 ml hot boiling water
  • 140 ml room temperature water
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 2-3 Tbsp neutral vegetable oil

Instructions 

  • Mix ground beef, shallots, garlic, mashed potato, soy sauce, salt, mala spice, and sesame oil. Form into small patties.
  • Prepare dough by combining flour, salt, hot boiling water, and room temperature water to form a smooth dough. Rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide dough into small balls, roll out into thin circles, and place a beef patty in the center of each.
  • Seal the edges and pan-fry each pancake in vegetable oil until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
