Delight in these rich and fluffy chocolate donut holes, perfect for a quick treat or party snack.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.33 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Frying & Coating

  • Vegetable oil, for frying (enough to fill 2 inches of a deep pot)
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions 

  • Whisk dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Mix wet ingredients in a separate bowl.
  • Combine wet and dry to form a thick batter.
  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Drop batter by 1 tbsp into oil and fry 2-3 mins until puffed.
  • Drain on paper towels, then toss in powdered sugar while warm.

Notes

Ensure oil temperature is maintained for even frying.
