A creamy and cheesy Chicken Alfredo Pasta combines tender chicken, al dente penne, and rich Alfredo sauce for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 10 ounces penne pasta (cooked al dente, GF if needed)
  • 3 cups diced cooked chicken

Sauce Base

  • 3 tablespoons butter or ghee
  • 2 tablespoons flour (use gluten-free blend if needed)
  • 1.5 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Seasonings

  • to taste salt and pepper

Cooking spray

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil spray (avocado or olive oil)

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta according to package. Sauté chicken until cooked. Melt butter, cook garlic 30 sec, whisk in flour 1 min. Gradually add milk and cream, simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper, then stir in parmesan until melted. Combine pasta, chicken, and sauce. Layer in greased dish, top with mozzarella. Bake 20 mins until golden.

Notes

Use leftover chicken for quicker prep or pan-fry fresh chicken for best flavor.
