Delicious and moist banana muffins packed with nuts and warm spices, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • to taste Turbinado sugar for topping

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line muffin tin or grease.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Combine wet ingredients in a separate bowl.
  • Mix wet into dry just until combined, fold in nuts and chips.
  • Divide batter into muffin cups, sprinkle with sugar, and bake 18-20 mins.
